Under policy direction, plans, coordinates, and supervises voter registration and conducts county, state, and federal elections for Clarendon County.  Performs related administrative and supervisory work as required.  Manages the daily activities of the Registration and Elections Department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Develops and administers the department budget; ensures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. Provides administrative support to the Registration and Elections Board; coordinates, attends, and participates in board meetings. Plans, coordinates, and conducts voter registration at designated places within Clarendon County. Maintains accurate voting precinct maps. Plans, coordinates, and conducts county, state, and federal elections, which includes securing polling sites; recruiting, training and supervising poll chairmen and managers; preparing, assembling, and distributing voting materials; programming and setting up voting machines; collecting and counting ballots; reporting ballot totals to appropriate authorities. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the County Administrator, Commission members, subordinates, other County personnel, volunteers, voters, elected officials, candidates, news media, special interest groups, civic/community organizations, various government/private agencies, and the general public. Requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or other relevant field, supplemented by three to four years of general administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.   Must be able to obtain certification within 18 months. We will take applications until March 18.
