Under general supervision of designated fire/rescue officers, performs response and medical treatment to patients requesting assistance through 911, provides the best possible control in emergency situations in order to protect the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Must be at least 18 years of age, at time of employment. Able to successfully complete physical agility test. Must successfully pass medical physical examination and pass testing for illegal drugs/substances. High School graduate or equivalent. Must possess Firefighter I certification. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license. Required Certifications: South Carolina EMT- Paramedic Certification, National Registry Paramedic, Basic Life Support – CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. You will be required to obtain your IFSAC Firefighter I certification, or equivalent, within 12 months of being hired.
