HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR
This position directs the activities of a centralized Human Resources Department. The work involves planning, organizing, directing, and implementing programs including but not limited to compensation and benefits; employment (recruitment and selection, technical support, and employee morale); employee relations and negotiations; training, professional development, and diversity; and retirement administration. This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports..
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Labor Relations or other closely related field.
- Eight (8) years of experience in human resource management at a director or manager level in at least three (3) of the major HR functional areas or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Prefers SHRM, PHR, ICMA – HR or equivalent certification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Standard Clauses
May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet the business needs of the County. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
